"I have been lucky enough to receive a few Nuss Grants over the years. The first grant was for a classroom set of ukuleles. This allowed all students (grades 2-5) to learn chords, strings and harmonic structures while accompanying themselves. Ukuleles are always a huge hit in my classroom! The second Nuss Grant I received was for an updated sound system. My old system was outdated and unpredictable. The new system allows me to play music consistently for students, I have microphones for student and teacher use (and saves my voice from strain), and the capability to record student performance in class. This allows immediate feedback and reflection on performances, which has greatly impacted student growth."
